Anthony Burke

Anthony Burke is Professor of Environmental Politics and International Relations at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Canberra, Australia. He is a Senior Fellow of the Earth System Governance Project and co-editor (with Joel Kassiola) of Palgrave’s Environmental Politics and Theory series.

He is a graduate of the University of Technology, Sydney (BA Hons and MA in Communications), and the Australian National University (PhD in Political Science and International Relations). Prior to joining academia he was a human rights activist on Southeast Asia and the South Pacific, and a research officer for the Australian Senate’s environment, arts and communications committee, where he led the drafting of reports on the Jabiluka uranium mine and Australia's response to climate change.
