Ecological crisis and the politics of the Anthropocene

This workshop, sponsored by the Australasian Political Studies Association, draws together researchers who are at the forefront of attempts to tackle the politics of the Anthropocene. The panels range from broad reflections on the political challenges of recognising obligations to other living beings to examination of the forms and limitations of governance. Speakers explore the imperative of new and potentially radical forms of political philosophy, governance, and policy and challenge existing forms of economic exchange, political deliberation, international negotiation, and institutional arrangements that have been unable to prevent the ecological crisis.

The event is being held at the University of Queensland, St. Lucia, Brisbane. If you would like to attend, please email Matt McDonald (matt.mcdonald@uq.edu.au)
